Fun fact: In 2007, the Cartoon Network created a guerrilla marketing campaign for their show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" by placing LED placards of the show's mooninite characters in various public places across Boston.
This stunt, intended to promote the show, was mistaken for a potential bomb threat, causing a citywide panic and leading to the shutdown of major highways and waterways.
The campaign ultimately cost Turner Broadcasting and the marketing agency involved $2 million in fines and emergency response costs, showcasing how a marketing idea can backfire spectacularly if not carefully considered.
